Subclass 188A (Business Innovation) Stream
Overview:
Applicants initially apply for the 188A visa based on their company's operations in China and their background. After successfully obtaining the 188 visa, they can operate a business in Australia for 2 years and then convert to the 888 Permanent Resident Visa.
Suitable for:
Small and medium-sized business owners with holdings in overseas.
Visa Advantages:
No English language, education, or occupation assessment requirements.
Application Requirements:
- Age requirement: Below 55 years or state government exemption.
- Company shareholding requirement: Holding at least 30% of the shares in the company for at least 2 years out of the past 4 years (10% for publicly-listed companies).
- Company turnover requirement: The company should have an annual turnover exceeding AUD 750,000 during the 2-year period.
- Company management requirement: Actively manage the daily operations of the company.
- Personal net asset requirement: Total family net assets should be above AUD 1.25 million.
- Immigration background scoring requirement: Achieve a score of 65 (see the scoring table for specific criteria, including age, English language, education, business experience, assets, company turnover, innovation qualifications, etc.).
888A Permanent Resident Visa Requirements:
- Company shareholding requirement: Hold at least 30% of the shares in the company for the 2-year period of Australian company operations (10% for publicly-listed companies).
- Company asset requirement: In the last year, the company's net assets should exceed AUD 200,000 (choose 1 out of 3 options).
- Company turnover requirement: In the last year, the company's turnover should exceed AUD 400,000 (choose 1 out of 3 options).
- Employment of Australian workers requirement: Employ at least two full-time employees (choose 1 out of 3 options).
- Residence requirement: Stay in Australia for no more than 6 weeks per year during the 2-year operational period.
- State government requirement: Invest in areas approved by the state government.
